Overview topics will include basic introduction to raising fish and vegetables. Health benefits of tilapia and why farm raised tilapia that you grow at home are healthy to eat and better than store-bought. They are hormone-free! You can control the quality of what they eat. Want to raise enough TILAPIA to feed your family? Considering raising TILAPIA to sell commercially? Here is a workshop for you. Location: In Golden Hills, one block south of Balboa Park, close to downtown San Diego in a friendly casual setting. WORKSHOP FEE: $100.00 Reserve Early— the seating is limited.
Attendees will assist in setting up a commercial quality support system for raising organic, hormone free, antibiotic free tilapia. Register by e-mail to: tilapia@cox.net
You will learn “how to” grow larger quantities of organic, high Omega 3 fish with a hands-on workshop.
You will help build a tilapia system to grow safe, organic fish for the family table and for sales to restaurants and markets.
COURSE CONTENT FOR HANDS-ON WORKSHOP:
We will present an overview about tilapia, including:
What is an ecosystem?
What are the needs and requirements of tilapia?
What is the protocol for raising tilapia?
What to do when you first get your fish home?
How to set up the fish farm?
Why it is a good system for raising fish?
How do you use the change water in your garden or landscape?
Shopping list of exactly what you need and where to buy it to build it yourself.
Save time and money with a complete supplier listing of where to buy and what to buy.
Expandable units—build one and add on by building more when you are ready.
Basic 275 gallon system supports 50 pounds of excellent quality fish.
We show you how to raise the best quality fish, suitable for commercial quality.
We show you what to feed the fish for the best quality and best tasting fish.
